Fidelity Offer

This may be a very silly question, thing is, I didn’t find an answer anywhere…

I’m reaching the end of my 2year-contract, and already have the possibility to use fidelity offer. However, it seems to me that it is more expensive to take it, rather than stopping the contract in 2 months and take a new one. Allow me to explain:

If I want to use the offer, I can choose a new phone from 39 CHF up (and those at that price are the ones from last year), plus the change of simcard (40 CHF).

However, if I were to take a new contract, most of the phones I can get with 1 CHF, sim is included, and I can keep the same number - if, of course, I have cancelled contract before.

Could please anyone tell me if I’m mistaken somewhere, or explain to me why it’d be an “offer” if it ends up being more expensive than just terminating contract and starting a new one?

What kind of contract do you have now and what will be the new one?

Maybe there was a missunderstanding. When you keep your contract and renew it, you don’t have to buy a new SIM-card. If you need one for your new phone, you will receive it for free.

With a new contract you have to buy a SIM-card (CHF 40.00) additionally to the phone.

So, with the same plan (f.e. NATEL infinity M 2.0) you will pay the same either with a new contract or renew your existing.

When you compare the prices of a phone with a new contract or a fidelity offer, please keep in mind, that you choose the same plan to compare. The price of the device depends on the plan you choose for the next 12/24 months.
