Powerline connection interrupted

Good morning,

Having an old powerline kit which presented instability problems (the master regularly lost connection with its two slaves), I decided to change the kit which was still under warranty.

So I installed my new PCLs (3 pieces) and everything worked for 3 weeks without any problems. Since Wednesday, the PCL connected to the internet box plus router has lost contact with the two other PCLs (LED flashes red). I unplug the PCL and plug it back into its socket and it immediately recognizes the other two (fixed white LED). Everything then returns to normal until the next interruption which occurs a day later. Rebelote, unplug PCL and plug it back in for it to work. What can I do to make this problem stabilize? Change PCL, move on? I know people for whom everything works without problems with 3 PCL. I favor this system in order to avoid disruptions between WiFi equipment.

Good morning,

Go to WLAN Connection Kit:

[https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/peripheriques/reseau-a-domicile/wlan-connection-kit.html?wcmmode=disabled&endless=] (https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/peripheriques/reseau-a-domicile/wlan-connection-kit.html?wcmmode=disabled&endless=)

It is more reliable and less sensitive to “electrical” disturbances.

Of course it is not free, but a discount can be requested if it proves necessary to carry out the installation.

The most reliable is always the direct connection by Ethernet cable (available up to 100m).

Best regards

Thanks for the wlan idea, but as I already have one, I would like to avoid disturbances between the wlan systems and running cables through my home doesn’t really tempt me either since I don’t have space in existing tubes. (router in one room and tv box in two other rooms opposite each other.

Dear pascal_pad,

Thank you for your message.

We suggest you carry out the following manipulations:

1. Reset the 3 adapters by pressing the “+” button for 10 seconds

2. Wait for the LED on each adapter to flash red

3. Press the “+” button on each adapter for 2 seconds

4. After about fifteen seconds, the LED remains lit white on each of the adapters

If the LEDs remain lit on each of the Powerlines, the installation should work again.

Waiting for your feedback, we wish you a pleasant day.

Cordialement,

Good morning,

I have almost the same problem as pascal_pad. I do “pairing” regularly, I also reset my two adapters. It works for 2 months, 1 week, or 1 day. Sometimes I have to repeat the exercise several times in a row. It’s tiring.

Unfortunately, I see little solution.

Two questions:

1) is there a problem with my electrical installation?

2) I use ECO LAN Starter-Kits. Are other models better?

Good morning,

I know that there are two better ways than CPL (Powerline adapter) to obtain a high quality Internet connection. But due to the arrangement of the TV in relation to the router (20 centimeter concrete slab and access by stairs two rooms further than the router), the Wlan connection Kit is not the right solution.

The connection by Ethernet cable is possible but requires some work (drilling the partition to pass the cable).

That’s why I was wondering if a better quality CPL (Powerline adapter) was the easiest route. I repeat that I have an older generation [www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/popup/eorders/powerline-ecolan-starter.html](http://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives /popup/eorders/powerline-ecolan-starter.html)

Is the “new” generation [www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/aide/peripheriques/reseau-a-domicile/powerline-adapter.html](http://www.swisscom.ch/fr /private-clients/help/peripheriques/home-network/powerline-adapter.html) is a solution?

My connection works but rather poorly. Images may freeze for a few seconds. Sometimes the system crashes, but inevitably. According to my tests, this does not depend on the use of other devices. This situation has been going on for about two years.

thank you for your response

There is also the possibility of using a WLAN transmitter as an intermediate repeater in the middle of the staircase, for example.
The Powerline is a solution more sensitive to external disturbances than the WLAN. You can possibly purchase a more recent model from SC to test it with a 2-week right of return.
