replacing Swisscom Motorola router

I would like to know if one can replace the Swisscom Motorola WLAN router with a different router (higher speed, more features). If one is permitted to do this, is there documentation on the proper method for this installation.

The settings (PPP or DHCP) depends your access technology (ADSL,VDSL, Fiber) and your customer profile (residential or business)

But attention. If you use Swisscom TV it is highly recommended to use a Swisscom gateway, (Motorola, Centro piccolo, Centro Grande).
