Exactly, that could be easily integrated into the MySwisscom app. This knows which Android is used, on which hardware and with which subscription. This means you can place a switch there, which then writes the settings into Android. This would mean you would stick to the Android standards and not have to tinker around with the firmware, which makes no sense at all.

@“x”#44444Oh and that without an extra firmware update? Did you receive a text message?

Now all you have to do is get the app for the Android 6.0 interface for all devices. It’s also available for iPhones…

@Anonymous In Android 6.x it is also integrated into the OS. The only thing missing is the app for one-time configuration.

Reading out the SIM Cert and writing the system config… not much different than the provider settings on iOS…

@“x”#373368Correct, without an extra update. Suddenly, shortly before 11 p.m., an SMS came “Welcome to the Advanced Calling world…blablabla.” Then I restarted the cell phone and everything was active.

okay… thank you swisscom that I paid extra for a swisscom branded Galaxy S7 a few weeks ago… by the way…

and now please simply activate this feature for all Android 6.x devices.

There would also be plenty of space on the Wifi Calling config page for settings such as:

- Prefer WLAN calling over LTE. -> so that Wifi calling is actually used when there is microscopic residual reception.

@Anonymous

Yes I know. But does that mean that it could soon also be available for older models?! there’s nothing wrong with that.

My unbranded Galaxy s7 also received a message from the SC two hours ago to restart the phone. And lo and behold, now VoLTE and WifiCalling works perfectly:smileysurprised:

And why exactly not with an S6 that is less than a year old? I just don’t understand that. Driving the consumer society ever further…

My girlfriend also has an S6 and doesn’t have it… that’s just the way it is…
And I think Guido has already explained this above

It’s an Android 6.x feature… I don’t understand why it’s made hardware dependent.

Reason was, is like that because is like that.

It makes zero sense from a technical perspective. I don’t understand this attitude, especially when you see that the competition here is more open.

This attitude from the ISPs annoys me… it starts with the router requirement and ends with “You have to buy the latest device”.

The landfills in Africa thank us for exemplifying this kind of thinking…
