Telephony overview with Rousseau Base on the box's web page

  • My configuration: Internet-box, multiline, 2 Rousseau with base, 1 Montreux.

The Rousseau base is visible in the web overview of the network under “wired devices”.

However, nothing is indicated regarding connected DECT devices. How can we control how many DECTs are connected? What if they are active?

Can we have Internet access to the Rousseau database?

Can we configure the Rousseau base and devices from the Internet?

      Dear jicubef,

      Thank you for your message.

Please forgive me for my imprecise explanations in my previous post. The Rousseau base can only be configured from the Rousseau handset.

The Rousseau is a stand-alone device. All settings must be made from the handset. The Rousseau is displayed in the Internet Box Web-GUI interface, but only changing the device name is possible.

It is not recommended to use the Rousseau base and another telephone directly connected to the Internet Box, to avoid having 2 directories and 2 separate call logs.

You are right about the multiline functionality of ISDN/ISDN, we are working to improve this point.

For further questions or support on these devices, we will be happy to forward your request to our specialists.

    Dear jicubef and jacks,

When using Montreux and Rousseau devices simultaneously, we recommend using only the Internet Box and not the Rousseau base. This way you can use a shared directory and a synchronized call log. You can also view each DECT in the Internet-Box Web-GUI interface. A real-time active/non-active status is not possible.

It is not possible to access the Rousseau database via the Internet Box.

The Rousseau base and devices are configurable only by LAN/WLAN.

    Dear LeylaG,

We may gain directory functionality with your suggestion…but we lose multiline functionality!

In fact, connecting Rousseau to the internet box unfortunately does not provide multiline functionality equivalent to that existing with ISDN/ISDN (eg audible identification of calls by a type of ringtone assigned to each number).

On the other hand: what do you mean with “The Rousseau base and devices are only configurable via LAN/WLAN”. How do we access the Rousseau base from LAN and PC? To my knowledge, the Rpousseau are only configurable from a telephone device. Did I miss something???

    Hi jicubef,

I can’t tell you about the Multiline functionality. On the other hand, I think that LeylaG means that the DECT base should be connected by pairing or by cable to the internet box. Have you tried going to the router interface (192.168.1.1) and checking the configuration options?

What exactly would you like to configure? Maybe I could help you more.

    Bye, Sushi14

Thank you Sushi14 for your comment.

The fact is that the Multiline functionality of Montreux is (currently???) very limited. Which made me switch to a Rousseau-only configuration.

LeylaG seems to say that you can configure Rousseau via the Internet (via web page?) but I didn’t see anything about this in the doc. She must confuse Montreux and Rousseau.

It is not possible to automatically synchronize the directories of the Rousseau database and the Internet-Box.

You cannot configure Rousseau from the Box interface. The base is visible but that’s it. Telephone devices. are not visible and also not configurable from the box.

The Rousseau base can be connected directly to the BOX (Ethernet port) or be somewhere on the LAN. At home it is on the LAN, all the ports of the Box being already occupied.

If you are a magician of the Rousseau configuration, I will be very grateful to you if with your magic wand you can ensure:

    - consistency of signaling between connected devices (received calls, missed calls, etc.)

    - removing duplicates from lists

    - coordination between apps. analogs connected to the Box and the Rousseaus connected to the Rousseau base

    - management from a web interface

    - etc

But for now I believe that you will face a (perhaps) impossible mission…
