Is the centro grande capable of blocking websites

My old router was a Netgear and you could block websites by typing the name of the site in to a box I’m now using a centro grande (swisscom) and I can’t find anywhere to block sites.

Is the centro grande capable of blocking sites???????

If so how do you do it?????????

There are two versions of the centro grande.

If you have the Pirelli Version you could open the advanced administration gui.

Make a telnet or ssh connection to your Router.

There you enter

conf set wbm/admin_wbm a25B06c81

system reboot

After the reboot you're able to open the gui with 192.168.1.1/admin.html.

Under security>Website Restrictions you can enter the blacklist.

I have a Pirelli BBS Model number V226N1W on swisscom.

I have gone into 192.168.1.1 logged in as admin which takes me to router configuration

There are 3 option

overview, settings and diagnostics

I have had a look in all 3 and could not find where to make a telnet or ssh connection

Silly me I just found out telnet and ssh is like an ftp..... LOL

I understand windows has a basic telnet so I tried this on both window 7 home and vista.

Click on start type in run enter a window then opened

Then typed telnet 192.168.1.1

Windows opened “windows cannot find “telnet””

So I tried cmd line

typed

telnet 192.168.1.1

got the response windows cannot find telenet

can you see what I’m doing wrong???

Would you recommend a different software???

You could tell the French connection how you really did it. As internet security isn't a true solution for your problem 😉
