External hard drive with USB-Anschluss usually works without any problems.

Format it again as I described above.

The My Passport Ultra external hard drive is now formatted into NTFS format!!!

USB is backwards compatible.

Does the hard drive on your PC even work?

Can you read and write data?

Yes, the blue upper USB Anschluss is plugged into the Internet box!!!

It works on a laptop!!!

Hmmm… I’m running out of ideas! I would completely format the disk again to NTFS, start the Internet box again and hope that it works!

Just for completeness: What capacity does your external hard drive have? It would be conceivable that there are some restrictions, for example above 4 TB.
