Swisscom TV 2.0 Box revision: differences?

  • Hello everyone

I also recently started using Swisscom TV 2.0. I have a total of two boxes active and I noticed something: Both boxes were manufactured at the end of January with a difference of 4 days - according to the information on the bottom of the box. One box is revision 4.1 and the other box is revision 4.2.

Is that the case with you too? It’s exciting that there were short-term changes to the series product. Maybe some of the problems you read about here depend on this…

    • Hello everyone,

Thank you very much for your contributions. There is no difference between revision 4.1 and 4.2 or there is no revision 4.2. An error was made here when labeling the devices. This means that restrictions cannot be assigned to a specific revision and specifying this is unnecessary.

why are there such different boxes with such different dates on different days and is Rev. 4.1 the worse version compared to 4.2?!

I assume they changed a tiny detail, and 4.2 is newer than 4.1 (logical).

But that shouldn’t worry you in terms of the functionality that you “bought” from Swisscom.

If something doesn’t work due to the hardware revision and you talk to the hotline, then you’ll definitely (as always) get an exchange model at some point.

But as long as everything works, the hardware revision doesn’t matter…

Agreed, but it would certainly be interesting to find out whether the various problems described here in the forum occur with both revisions (4.1 and 4.2) or not.

Yes, that may be the case. Nevertheless, if you want to carry out professional error analysis and quality assurance, all error messages must be assigned to the existing SW and HW releases in order to be able to determine dependencies.

The question is who you can tell who and where at Swisscom. All channels point to this forum. According to the SC Helpdesk, the forum is also read by Swisscom product managers.
