Docsafe is a very interesting project and has a lot of potential.
Here’s some initial usability feedback:
After authorizing a person by entering their Swisscom Login, I see only their name in the Authorized Persons list. If I want to forward them a document, or tell someone else what that person’s ID is, then there’s no way to find out.
Let’s say, my friend’s name is Fritz Muster. At some point he told me on the phone that his ID (sic) was muster.fritz and that’s what I used to add him to my Authorized Persons list. A few weeks later, my wife wants to add him, too. I tell her to try fritz.muster, and this is confirmed to go to “Fritz Muster” (no wonder!), but we may never know that fritz.muster is not muster.fritz.
A similar problem occurs when I want to forward a document to Fritz. I have to explain to Fritz that his “ID” cannot be used for forwarding because it’s his Swisscom Login and not his Docsafe ID, and that he needs to give me his email address or phone number (which he may not want to do) or look up his real ID…
My expectation:
1. Under “Persons” show not just first and last name, but
-- the “Docsafe Owner”, i.e. first and last name and city
-- Docsafe ID
-- the
-- possibly all the other contact channels that the person has offered, or at least
-- the one that I used to find the person in the first place (e.g. the Swisscom Login, if that’s what I used), as long as it’s valid
2. In “Forward document to” also accept first or last names of my Authorized Persons.
3. Do not accept a User Name (= Swisscom Login) for sharing/authorizing, because that is unsafe and causes confusion, because it does not work for forwarding.
More wishes:
4. I like the way how the Android app allows assembling multiple pictures into a PDF. It would be nice to have that functionality in the web interface as well, but OTOH, I would like to be able to upload Android pictures without forcing a conversion into a PDF.
5. Provide a viewer for TXT files, at least, maybe even an editor.
