Swisscom TV image freezing after a few seconds

I’ve just recieved a new centro grande router with my new fiber line and since installing this with the new DVR Swisscom TV box, my TV image freezes only after a few seconds…on every channel!

I’ve read that it could be a multicast issue between the router and the TV box, but i’m not sure. I have nothing in between the two devices and it only connected with the provided ethernet cable.

I also tried with the old non DVR TV box, and the exact same issue. So signs point to the router, could it be just a configuration problem?

Anyone have any ideas?

so the SCTV Box is connected through Eternet directly to the Swisscom router?

try to reboot the router, wait a few minutes and reboot the SCTV Box.

Yes thats correct. Direct ethernet cable.

I’ve tried to reboot everything already, but i don’t think i’ve waited a few minutes between each reboot. Does that actually help?

If that doesn’t work any other ideas?

Unfortunately, rebooting each device had no effect. The same problem still occurs.

does it happen only to HD channels or all channels?
do you have other devices connected to the router?

All channels. and the only other things that are connected are 2 computers, but over wifi. That’s it.

ok, just to be 100% sure, disconnect every computer connected via WLAN.

Could be a problem related to your FIBER connection.

If nothing helps, call the hotline under 0800 800 800 and tell them that you have fiber.

Yeah did that as well, disconnected everything. Everything points to the issue being the router since i’ve tried 2 different TV boxes, both with the same issue.

Internet works great…i get full 100M speed, so i don’t an issue there at all.

Do you know of somewhere to possibly upgrade the firmware of the router? Its the Pirelli model.

that should happen automatically.

go to the address 192.168.1.1 –> login to the router interface –>

settings –> router –> firmware –> check for upgrade

I have exactly the same problem with Swisscom router. It previously worked fine (with same router) in Lausanne, now we moved to Neuchâtel and kept the same set up… but now freezes up always after 8 seconds (just the same as problem as in other emails in this stream)

My router brand and make is “ Centro grande (Pirelli)”

If any one worked out how to fix this I would really appreciate it.
