BBC World Service Channel down
@Ployauthie45 I suppose you mean BBC World News. This channel was merged with BBC News under the name BBC news. So BBC World news no more exists.

The BBC News (Europe) version is now available at the place of the former BBC World News as at the former BBC News place there is the BBC News (UK) version, thanks to all which made this happen. As I already said BBC World News itself no more exists.

can you confirm that you will no longer broadcast BBC News channel ? any reasons why?
extremely frustrating.
the quality of channels proposed is going down the sink
@Riojiefuth71 I explained it here already a couple of minutes ago:
https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Channels-Content/Channel-reception/m-p/764609#M429
BBC World News no more exists, merged with BBC News. It‘s not Swisscom‘s fault. The resulting new BBC news channel (named BBC news) after the merger is still available at Swisscom, I checked it.
Please create and multicast the channel BBC News (SD, Standard quality)
fact:
Swisscom headend did a confusing ip between BBC News and BBC world news only for the standard quality from a least very long time ago.
tv.blue.ch > tvair free
The Coronation of TM The King and Queen Camilla
BBC News > Missing (standard quality) please create asap for your customers/network iptv partners.

BBC World News > end of life (standard quality) or change just the name and multicast the BBC NEWS content !

BBC NEWS HD > OK

BBC WORLD NEWS HD > end of life

To be more precise, with the BBC World News Channel being rebranded, the remaining available feed is the UK-specific BBC News feed, not the international one intended for Europe. The UK-specific one repeats domestic news content from BBC 1 and shifts to the international feed when BBC 1 is showing non-news programming.
Why is only the UK-specific feed available on Swisscom, and not the Europe-specific international one (since we are obviously not in the UK if subscribing to Swisscom)?
This puts into question the value proposition of Swisscom’s English-language tv offerings.
The supposed “solution” is not correct. A search of the BBC Website for schedule shows otherwise. https://www.bbc.co.uk/schedules/p00fzl9j
@Priemmajei57 It is, it is BBB news, the Channel « BBC World news » no more exists.
@Gaeilgeoir Wrong. The channel exists, see today’s broadcast schedule for Europe. It is Swisscom that has discontinued the Europe feed of the channel, while keeping the UK feed.
@Priemmajei57 There are different versions of BBC News that’s a diffenence to the former channel « BBC World News »
https://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/United-Kingdom.html
Swisscom has left the UK variant in place. @LeylaG could you olease clarify internally whether the Europe variant (we are not in the UK) of « BBC News » can be taken up again?
Renowned for quality, independence and the face trusted journalism reporting around the world it appears the BBC has decided to abandon the one credible alternative to CNN and Euronews - a sad day - please repent!
@Veirugeu81 Indeed, that‘s it., I completely agree.
There are too many BBC channels essentially doing the same thing. I bet they themselves are confused.
Agree 100%
BBC News (International) can be found in the Zattoo free version.
You can download the app to your Android TV
agreed the channel on Swisscom TV is not BBC News (International)
